V Festival

I had a lovely weekend at V Fest, full of music, (some) sunshine, rain, wind and chips.
Here are a few pictures from it, I wish I had taken more..
We were lucky enough to bag Hidden Garden tickets too! (thanks to Alex's dad). This meant we had a little area we could go into, that had MUCH better toilets, a massage area and bar that you didn't have to queue hours for!

The Baking Bug..

The last few days I have been rather busy in the kitchen creating many yummy things to eat!
This include a batch of 24 cupcakes that I took into work as a 'celebration' of my last day of work. (It's not really my last day there, but I decided to take a few weeks off before heading to University. I am still employed there, I will just be working there when I come home.)
Here is the last of the cupcakes I made, unfortunately, I didn't get to take a picture of all of them as they were eaten before I had a chance to do so!

They really were too good to resist and looking at this now is making me hungry! So much for my summer shape up plan!
I also created a journal page about the cupcakes too.

The baking bug then turned into a general cooking bug and I found myself making a rather posh dinner the other night! Stuffed Peppers with an Avocado Salad for main course, which was 'nice' according to Alex. Then for dessert I made a Pineapple Upside Down Cake, which I have to admit is meant for 4 people, but we shared the whole cake between the two of us!! Whoops! But it was nice :)

Here it is on a Bob The Builder plate.
Classy.

I can't wait to do more cooking and baking!
I forgot how fun it is.

Hair Cut Time...

After 7 months, I have finally had a hair cut.
I didn't really have much done, just more of a 'tidy up' at the ends, I also had my fringe cut back in, which had become ridiculously long.
I am fairly pleased with how it's turned out, lets just hope I don't leave it too long before I have it cut again.

The End of My Art Foundation Course..

Yesterday, I took down the display of my FMP work for my Foundation Course, that is when it hit me, this is the end of this course, a year of pure art that has really been the best thing I have chosen to do.
I am proud to say that I have come so far from the beginning of this course, my art work has improved and I have found the discipline that I want to work in, which is the main thing. I also feel that I, personally have come a very long way, From the underweight, slightly depressed teenager, to a normal, happy human being. And it feels great!
I feel ready to take on the world and the challenges it will throw me. I hope that I continue to feel this happy and only get happier, I know I will have times where I will feel down but don't we all? I am going to think of the down times as being the thing that makes the good times feel even better. We can't be on top of the world all the time as that will become normal and the good times just won't be as good anymore...
Okay, enough rambling for now... below, are some pictures of my FMP display.
Oh, I almost forgot to say... I have already received my results and I got a distinction, which I am very pleased with :)

Face Painting..

Here are some pictures from mine and Alex's face painting day. Alex is a clown and I'm a Tiger.
We then went out to an Indian Restaurant (with the face paints still on), where we were entered into a raffle and won a bottle of wine! Then sat and ate an Indian nd drinking wine whilst watching Romeo and Juliet.
Such a random, but truly memorable day :)

Race For Life..

Yesterday, I completed the Race For Life.
I did the 5k race around the lovely place that is Luton Hoo and I did it in 46 minutes which I am really proud of.
It was apparently one of the hottest days of the year so far, with not a cloud in the sky.
This is the first time I have taken part in something like this, but I really enjoyed it, even if running is not my forte. I will definitely do something like this in the future, the effort put in by everyone taking part is amazing and reading the back signs of who the participants are running for, really pushes you further.

Arriving at the finish line (I'm not running the wrong way, the people running the other way are people starting the race as they were late)
This was taken just after I had finished the race... I don't look too red in the face!!

Bird Cage Antics...

Today marks the end of my Art Foundation Course... after 11 weeks of working on my FMP, it is finally done.
I have spent the last week putting up my final display and I handed in my prep work this afternoon. It's such a good feeling handing something in that you have put so much time and effort into, except the inevitable 'don't know what to do with myself' feeling arises. However, that feeling quickly disappeared when I walked into my bedroom and realised the mess I had managed to create in it whilst I had been so busy with my college work. I think I know what I'll be doing over this next week!!
Anyway, here are a few pictures that I took of the bird cage that I have used in my final piece, this is all I am going to show you so far... I will post pictures of the display and explain what it's about after the public show next week.
