Julie and Julia

Yesterday, my mum was kind enough to buy me a film (because I'm ill :( ) that I've been wanting to see for quite a while now. It's called Julie and Julia, yes, I was kind of drawn to it because the title had my name in it, but I was also drawn to it because it was about cooking.
Well, I watched it and quite enjoyed it. It has kind of made me want to start my own cooking blog, where I blog the recipes I make and how well they go etc. It's just an idea, I really do doubt that I will do it but it's a nice thought. Maybe I will do it over the summer.

The DVD even came with a little cook book, with samples of some of the recipes taken from Julia Child's cookbook, called 'Mastering the Art of French Cooking', which is featured in the film.

A lovely song by Kate Nash

This week is going to be one of those awful weeks that I am constantly busy and don't get much time to myself, which makes me feel quite sad. But I am going to make it through, where there should be some happy, 'do whatever I want to' times ahead.
Here are some lyrics to a song that I currently love right now and are helping me through this week.
:)

I Hate Seagulls
Kate Nash
I hate seagulls and I hate being sick
I hate burning my finger on the toaster and I hate nits
I hate falling over
I hate grazing my knee
I hate picking off the scab a little bit too early
I hate getting toothache
I hate when it's a piss-take
I hate all the mistakes I make
I hate rude ignorant bastards
and I hate snobbery
I hate anyone, who if I was serving chips wouldn't talk to me
But
I have a friend, with him I'd like to spend anytime I can find
with ... I like sleeping in your bed
I like knowin' what is goin' on inside your head
I like taking time and I like your mind
and I like when your hand is in mine
I like gettin' drunk on the dunes by the beach
I like pickin' strawberries
I like cream-teas
and I like reading ... ghost-stories
and my heart skips a beat every time that we meet
it's been a while and now your smile is almost like a memory
but then you're back and I am fine 'cause you're with me
and I'm in love with you
and I can't find the words to make it sound unique
but honestly you make me strong
I can't believe I've found someone this kind
I hope we carry on
'cause you're so nice and I'm in love with you

Inspiration Sketchbook

A quick update on my current artwork, I am currently doing my FMP at college, so it's very busy at the moment. I just thought I'd like to share some of my work so far, with you.
I am making a small sketchbook with sketches from visits to museums and items that inspire me.
Here is the first part to my sketchbook, a visit to The Natural History Museum in London.

And what has happened to the nice weather????

Well, it's May but according to the weather, it may as well be February. It's freezing cold, rainy and just plain miserable, which is making me feel quite miserable too.
A couple of weeks ago the weather was gorgeous, feeling almost like summer. So, to cheer myself up, I decided to nose through some of the photographs I took of the sunset back in April, when the volcanic ash was meant to be making it red. Unfortunately, the red sunset did not appear, but the sky still looked rather nice (apart from the phone line wires :/ )
